Tianqin Ren

I am a PhD candidate in Philosophy at the University of Missouri.

My current research mainly focuses on the interpretation of evolution by natural selection, including its scientific, epistemic, and normative implications. I'm also interested in the explanatory power of simulation models and AI.

I enjoy guiding students to explore the world of philosophy and have been teaching several introductory philosophy courses in various settings.

I served as the president of MAP (Minorities and Philosophy) chapter at our department from 2023 to 2025.

During the 2025-26 academic year, I will be visiting the Minnesota Center for Philosophy of Science.
